AUTHOR OF PENSIVE... PART 1: RELATIONSHIPS
Question 1: Tell us about yourself? Where are you from? What are your talents, hobbies etc.? I am from Lexington, KY. I speak Spanish fluently, love salsa, all types of food, reading books, and leisure traveling. I also love shopping and anything regarding natural products.
Question 2: What inspired you to write this book? I was inspired to write this after talking to several of my friends about our 'lovely' relationship issues and wrote scenarios about the ones that intrigued me the most.
Question 3: What has been your biggest challenge in completing this project? What did you do to overcome it? My biggest challenge was believing that I could actually publish a book. I told a good friend of mine that I've begun to write stories and never finished them so how could this be a story? They were very encouraging about putting all these stories together to create a book. Once I realized this was going to become a reality, I got real nervous about clicking "Send" because I realized I was not just sharing other people's experiences, but my own as well. I didn't know what people would think of it which made me nervous. I thought over and talked to God about it for a few days and realized this is something I really want to do and clicked "Send".
Question 4: Did you learn anything about yourself from writing your book and what was it? One thing I learned about myself is about managing time outside of my busy schedule. After setting deadlines with my publisher, I had to set deadlines for myself, especially since I'm working on another book.
Question 5: What is the single message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? (Feel free to include a snippet or excerpt) My message for readers is to think about what they get themselves involved in and see what you have learned about yourself, not just the people you have been involved with. You may say you may react one way, but until you go through that experience with an emotional attachment, you may never know.
Question 6: What is your single piece of advice for aspiring writers and authors?
For aspiring writers and authors, I would say do your research if you want to publish a book. Ask yourself what is your goal for publishing a book (whether it's for profit, passion, etc.). Also, be true to yourself. If you believe you have the gift to share with everyone, go for it and don't hesitate to do it.
